The new KoSa PolyShield™ PET, when blended with nylon, can be used to produce amber or green monolayer barrier bottles that are transparent, glossy, and recyclable into the colored streams. Resin is said to allow for production of bottles with improved O2 and CO2 barrier, without additional complexity at the converter, expensive conversion equipment, or problems with empty bottles losing their barrier properties when stored for more than several months.
