Planglow USA Launches New Premium Deli Style Collection Of Matching Packaging And Labels

Planglow USA - a leading provider of labeling and compostable packaging to the foodservice industry - has launched a brand new range - the Gastro Collection which showcases a comprehensive range of premium, yet affordable gourmet to-go products. Creating an excellent presentation for fine foods and ingredients, it is unlike anything else currently available on the food-to-go market.

The Gastro Collection includes sandwich wedge boxes and wrap pack boxes [both large and XL], an XL sandwich box for square cut sandwiches / snacks, a baguette bag for subs and baguettes, a sandwich / pastry bag for biscuits, bagels & bear claws and anything in between, three sizes of salad boxes - ideal for sushi and chilled pasta or noodle dishes plus two label options! The striking chalk-on-slate design displays the quality ‘Gastro’ image while the bold plant design states the handcrafted nature and eco credentials of produce.

Rick Nelson, Planglow USA’s director of product development, commented: “We have observed how chalk-on-slate has become increasingly synonymous with both deli produce and the fine dining movement. Simultaneously, many of our customers are now offering products made with ingredients of notable preparation and provenance. We felt the market lacked packaging and labeling choices reflecting a gourmet image. With this in mind, we developed a comprehensive, value-added and affordable artisan-style packaging with a labelling range aligned with this dynamic market. We suspect that it won’t be long before chalk-on-slate products dominate fine dining and gourmet-to-go”.

The Gastro Collection is made from entirely compostable and biodegradable materials. Packaging products have a rustic Kraft inner liner, laminated with a plant-based film. In addition to acting as a large viewing window, the bio laminate provides a superior fully home compostable barrier to retain freshness. This is unique to Planglow USA aligned with ASTM D6400 compostable certification, it is also Home Compost certified - the European standard for home compostability, indicating the ability to dispose of it in your home compost heap.

The premium matt finish sheet labels are available in two shapes: a rectangular label for displaying basic product information and a Fold-over label for displaying barcodes and nutritional data as well as providing a tamper evident safety seal. Both labels can be overprinted with product information, logos, or personalized branding elements using Planglow USA’s market-leading label printing software; LabelLogic, a PC and a desk top printer. Nutritional data can be calculated and added, using Planglow USA’s NutriLogic software, utilizing the USDA’s National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference. Furthermore, all Planglow USA’s suppliers are certified for their pro-active environmental best practice. Most importantly, the board and plant based laminate are sourced from international paper mills that fully manage sustainable and renewable plantations.
