ProAmpac introduces recyclable fiber-based packaging for meat and cheese
ProAmpac has collaborated with Ireland’s meat supplier Divilly Brothers to introduce ProActive Recyclable FibreSculpt to the Irish chilled cooked meat market.
ProActive Recyclable FibreSculpt is a high-barrier solution for thermoforming applications, including chilled cooked meats, cold cuts, sliced cheese, and fish. The innovation is compliant with On-Pack Recycling Label guidelines and contains more than 90% fiber content.
Adam West, product development engineer at ProAmpac, says: “Working with Divilly Brothers to launch FibreSculpt in Ireland, and doing so alongside the debut of its no added nitrite ham, demonstrates how performance and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.”
“This technology delivers operational efficiency, product shelf life, and strong consumer appeal without compromising recyclability.”
Divilly Brothers has launched its no added nitrite ham range in high-barrier, curbside recyclable FibreSculpt packaging, aiming to reduce plastic use while maintaining product protection and shelf visibility.
Peter Divilly, managing director at Divilly Brothers, comments: “Quality has always been at the heart of what we do. Partnering with ProAmpac to introduce this recyclable, fiber-based packaging enables us to underscore our environmental commitment while ensuring the freshness our customers value.”
Last month, ProAmpac introduced its ProActive recycle-ready, polyolefin-based films for high-speed chunk cheese packaging. The solution is said to be compatible with PE recycling streams and can incorporate PCR material.
