The name says it all: Diamond, a packaging solution with a domed lid and contoured edges received a World Star 2011 award presented by the World Packaging Organisation. With its unique shape, the persuasive packaging design is ideal for high-quality confectionary products. Diamond earned the privilege of being nominated for a World Star award after receiving an iF packaging design award in 2010.
The iF communication design award 2012 was presented to rlc for its "innovation³" packaging. From design to engineering and production, this complete packaging solution consists of seven nested cubes. Each of these folding boxes is made from a different cardboard material to illustrate a complete range of attractive finishes. Modern finishing methods are presented with laser effects, blind and micro embossing, hybrid-Iriodin effects, partial drip-off and spot varnishes, scented lacquers, and laminated foils. Another award in the same category was received by rlc for "Der Weg der Marke" (The Way of the Brand). This book was produced in cooperation with packaging expert Hans-Georg Böcher and published this summer in conjunction with the company's 150th anniversary.
An iF packaging design award 2012 was presented to rlc for a series of folding boxes developed for cosmetics manufacturer andrea.biedermann. Manufactured according to sustainability guidelines, the exclusive folding boxes respond to "green" consumer preferences. The three versions of the simple BOX made from FSC-certified cardboard feature a unique look & feel thanks to the natural cardboard material and high-relief embossing. An iF packaging design award was also received for the packaging created for "BabyNes," a new nutrition system for infants and toddlers produced by Nestlé. These packages are color-coded for different product varieties and are characterized by an unobtrusive, high quality design featuring high-relief and deep embossing with UV gloss varnishing.
The coveted Swiss Star design award was presented to rlc for the "Black Box," a cube-shaped, Invercote carton coated with black PE foil and finished with silver hot foil embossing. The Swiss Star awarded once each year for unique packaging solutions is sponsored by the Swiss Packaging Institute (SVI).
As a winner in the packaging category, rlc was honored with a Display Superstar Award in gold for "Soon Future Facial Care," a premium beauty product packaging solution designed for Weyergans Highcare AG. The award was presented in bronze for the new "Happy Easter 2011" series packaging for Lindt & Sprüngli. Organized since 1994 by the display Verlag GmbH publishing company, the Superstar competition honors Europe's best POS solutions.
