Rolling Optics and Source Labels Create 3D Labels for Bacardi
The 3D lens as Bacardi calls it is an optical illusion with 10 layers of different botanicals, the ingredients in the Bombay Sapphire.
20 Jun 2012 --- Rolling Optics has created a “state of the art” 3D-label for Bacardis limited edition giftbox for their famous Bombay Sapphire Gin. Together with leading creative agency Webb DeVlam and converter Source Labels, we’ve created a label that is getting attention everywhere for its innovative approach and design.
‘It’s a delightful challenge to work with this cutting edge technology’, said Tim Lowe, sales director at Source Labels. ‘The Bacardi gift-box is in itself an object of beauty and complexity, but from a label conversion perspective this is as sophisticated as it gets.’
The 3D lens as Bacardi calls it is an optical illusion with 10 layers of different botanicals, the ingredients in the Bombay Sapphire. Three of the ingredients look as if they are protruding from the 3D label, and seven are placed below the surface.
‘We’re glad to be working with Source Labels on this prestige project’, commented Bjorn Norberg, area sales director at Rolling Optics. ‘It’s a powerful illusion that we’ve created for Bacardi, but it is all about tangibles in the end – eventually it has to fly out of the shelves. With the aid of Source Labels we’ve created a label bound for packaging awards.’
Bacardi Global Travel Retail has created a limited edition gift box for Bombay Sapphire, designed by UK-based creative agency Webb deVlam in cooperation with the design department at Rolling Optics. The Gift Box was released in early February 2012.
