Rovema GmbH, a Germany-based provider of packaging machinery for the food industry including the bakery, confectionery, snack and frozen foods sectors, has announced the cessation of its ongoing partnership with Rovema Packaging Machines LP and the opening of a new facility in Norcross, Georgia.
The space will serve as headquarters for a new entity, Rovema North America Inc, which will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German parent company, thereby reuniting the parent company with its North American business unit.
Rovema GmbH manufacturers equipment for dosing, vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) pouching, cartoning, and final packaging operations. The company has established itself among the industry’s premium machinery suppliers, with a reputation for engineering precision, innovative solutions to packaging challenges and unsurpassed customer service.
Though Rovema North America will initially focus on sales and service, it is planned that the plant will eventually be utilised for engineering and manufacturing as well. Food packaging equipment veteran John Panaseny has been tapped as Rovema North America’s first chief executive officer. “We appreciate the relationship we have had with Klaus Kraemer and Charlotte Koellner, but this completes our goal to become a unified worldwide organisation,” said Rovema GmbH managing partner Thomas Becker. “In recent years, it has been our goal to reunite our North American operations with our headquarters and technology centre in Fernwald, Germany. We believe the change in ownership in North America will benefit our customers by better leveraging our strong technological developments, global business insights and stable financial structure.”

We have a passion for developing and building packaging machines and systems that suit the complex demands of a modern circular economy. We THINK holistically and take into account the environment, the market, the product and the packaging. This allows us to build efficient and future-proof packaging machines with high availability. A sustainable solution that fits the characteristics of the product to be packed and its demands in logistics, packaging material, shelf life and energy efficiency is our first priority.
ROVEMA Sustainable Packaging Solutions
We actively search for possibilities to save packaging materials and have prepared our machines to process very thin packaging materials. At the same time together with our clients, we continuously test new packaging materials from regrowing or recyclable materials to ensure process ability at the highest possible output rate. With profound application expertise, innovative approaches and new technologies we find the optimum packaging solutions for our clients – custom-fit and individual – thus securing competitive advantages. With our global network we are on-site for you and for decades will support you throughout your system’s entire machine life. We offer various retrofits and modifications for existing machines that allow an adaptation to new demands for example paper materials.
Sustainable economic, ecological and social actions for ROVEMA are an essential element of corporate culture. This also includes integrity in our relationships with employees, business partners and the public.
For ROVEMA responsible development means working very carefully with available resources and protecting the environment in the process. Our products and systems become economically sustainable by the use of innovative technologies that enable the processing of regrowing, renewable packaging materials. This also includes the reduction of energy consumption and the optimization of packaging volumes. With an optimized design for the transport packaging, the CO2 emissions are reduced on route. Product quality must be protected especially for perishables and baby foods, durability and safety is our number one priority. Maintaining high quality after production, combined with modern and efficient packaging processes, drastically reduces product losses and saves packaging material resources.
