Sipa Presents a PET Bottle Weighing Just 10.9 Grams

09/01/08 After Sidel and its No Bottle, a 50 cl PET bottle weighing 9.9 grams and Krones with its bottle of the same format weighing 1.1g less, it is Sipa's turn to present an ultra light bottle, weighing just 10.9 grams.
Even though the Italian manufacturer doesn't reduce the weight more than its competitors, the markets for its bottles have been extended. Thanks to its blossom shaped base and its design, it can be used for packaging drinks with or without gas. A distinctive feature of the technology proposed by Sipa is that the bottles can be blown by any type of machine. Sipa is a subsidiary of the Zoppas group and is specialised in blow moulding machines for PET bottles.
