Innovation will be a key theme of the RPC stand at Interpack 2005, showcasing the strength and diversity of the Group’s capabilities as Europe’s leader in rigid plastics packaging. Major new products on show include the unique T-DISC brewing device for Kraft Foods’ revolutionary TASSIMO beverage system, a new pack for plant food with a unique dosing system, a breakthrough multi-layer polypropylene pack that provides an alternative to the tin can for processed vegetables and a new range of standard containers for personal care and beauty products. RPC Bramlage and Kraft Foods have spent two years developing the T-Disc to ensure its high functionality. Each T-Disc – designed to work exclusively with the TASSIMO brewer – contains a precisely measured amount of product with essential brewing information contained in a barcode on the label. The internal components of the T-Disc guide the flow of water to brew the perfect cup. A new pack, custom-designed and manufactured by RPC Containers Raunds for pbi Home and Garden’s Phostrogen Plant Food, incorporates a flip-top closure, injection moulded at RPC Market Rasen, which uses a unique dosing system to ensure that an accurate measure is delivered every time. The new Conserves Pratiques pack produced by RPC Bebo UK Corby for leading French retail chain Carrefour France offers an ambient shelf life of up to two years with the added consumer benefit of individually separable compartments that can be easily and quickly reheated in the microwave. The Diamond range of standard containers from RPC Bramlage-Wiko for the personal care market offers the advantage of high-quality function and a sophisticated visual style without the cost of a bespoke solution. Two types of crème dispenser and a multi-functional crème jar are available. With 46 factories across Europe, the RPC stand will underline the company’s capabilities in all the major plastics materials and manufacturing processes and its expertise in devising packaging solutions for a huge range of products and end markets. Many of these packs involve the technology and expertise of more than one RPC site, demonstrating the Group’s ability to provide a ‘one-stop’ packaging service.
