The Standox quality management system has just been awarded the ultimate performance standard: ISO/TS 16949:2002. This standard comprises all existing and published quality standards and requirements made by the worldwide auto industry on a quality management system. Based in Wuppertal, Germany, Standox® is one of the first paint manufacturers to be certified to the new standard for all its international locations, following an extensive audit. Based on ISO 9001:2000, the new standard includes additional requirements for the auto industry, which must be integrated into the management and organization system. It is the first standard to be recognized by all carmakers and also includes the different country specifications used so far. Standox is a pioneer also with regard to environmental protection. The company's Wuppertal headquarters have fulfilled the requirements of the Eco Audit since 1996. Certification to DIN ISO 14001 followed in 1997. Since then, environmental auditors have audited the company's management system with regard to safety, healthcare and environmental protection on an annual basis. Standox's environmental efforts are not confined to its internal processes but also include the customer; all products are made in a way that ensures that they do not harm the environment during application and that the customer can safely perform all work processes.
