Tea Manufacturer Puts their Trust in Bradman Lake Packaging Equipment
The SL904 machine has been integrated into a packaging line that will be fed with tea bags wrapped by two existing Bradman Lake FT120 Flowrappers that the customer has bought in previous years.
20 April 2012 --- In late 2011 the Bradman Lake Group received a repeat order from a long established UK tea blender and manufacturer for the supply of an SL904 fully automatic twelve axis servo end load cartoner. This company produces supermarket brands round tea bags and was recently awarded a new contract to supply to a major UK supermarket. Due to the increase in production and the requirement to pack single and double layers of flow wrapped tea bags in wide range of cartons this machine must therefore offer quick and repeatable carton size change overs to make the packaging process efficient and productive.
The customer was reassured by the knowledge that the Bradman Lake Group has proven and extensive experience in handling and packing tea products and their wide range of equipment, including flow wrapping, cartoning, shrink wrapping and case packing machines is already operating with other top echelon tea manufactures working as either individual packaging machines or as part of a complete system. In addition, this particular customer already owns Bradman Lake equipment that has exceeded their expectations so they placed their trust again in Bradman Lake and purchased a fully automatic SL904 end load cartoner to pack flow wrapped tea bags into cartons in various collations.
The SL904 machine has been integrated into a packaging line that will be fed with tea bags wrapped by two existing Bradman Lake FT120 Flowrappers that the customer has bought in previous years. Of particular significance is the unique, Bradman Lake designed, product collator incorporated with the SL904 to directly load erected cartons with either single or double layers of flow wrapped tea bags. This is a further illustration of Bradman Lake’s ability to design and build different product collators to fully automate their packaging machinery systems and setting them apart from manufactures of single, stand alone, machines. This is a service they offer to all their existing customers and client.
The customer needed to pack various collations of tea bags, from two flow wrappers into cartons on one single, very flexible machine because of limited availability of floor space in their existing factory. This was a challenge for the Bradman Lake engineering design team which they accepted and overcome. The SL904 is widely regarded for its great flexibility in handling different sizes of cartons and accommodating diverse product collations. Inevitably, due to floor space constraints, Bradman Lake had to work closely with the customer to provide a safe, practical and suitable solution that provided sufficient access for both personnel and transport of packaging materials. This installation is another example that proves the Bradman Lake Group is a partner that goes “above and beyond” customer expectations to help their client to excel in today’s competitive markets.
