Teatulia, the Denver-based tea company that sources its teas from organics gardens in Northern Bangladesh, has introduced new packaging that’s sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Teatulia utilizes biodegradable, compostable and recycled materials. All Teatulia teas are packed in recyclable and compostable paperboard canisters; product labels are made from post-consumer paper and water-based inks; and all Teatulia whole-leaf tea varieties are available in biodegradable, plant-based, silken pyramid tea bags. All of this is used to house Teatulia’s own line of certified organic, fairly traded tea.
In working with a small community and a sustainable tea garden in northern Bangladesh, Teatulia helps provide living-wage jobs in a low-income area of the world. Through its Teatulia Cooperative, the company has established education, health and cattle-lending programs for the people working in the garden.
“All sales of Teatulia organic teas contribute to this mission, helping to better the lives of Bangladeshi men, women and children while rebuilding the local ecosystem,” says Linda Appel Lipsius, CEO and company co-founder, who recently traveled to the region to take part in the groundbreaking of a new library addition to the community’s school.
Founded in 2009, Teatulia is a woman- and minority-owned business with a mission to provide “100 percent organic teas with a purpose.”
