Tesco has demonstrated its support for Gressingham Duck by re-launching its products under the Gressingham Foods label.
The change will be implemented from the beginning of April.
The producer’s distinctive black and gold packaging has been tailored exclusively for Tesco, and features visible GDAs on the front as well as a recipe idea on the back.
The store’s Gressingham Duck product range has also been extended with the addition of the Gressingham Half Duck (950g) and Mini Fillets (225g).
Commercial managing director, William Buchanan, commented: “There’s no greater indication of a brand’s strength than when a major retailer gives it premium positioning on the supermarket shelf. We’re delighted that Tesco has put its weight behind the Gressingham Duck brand and hope its customers continue to enjoy the unique taste of our product.”
A family business founded in 1971, Gressingham Foods is the only company in the world licensed to produce Gressingham Duck, a unique cross-breed of wild Mallard and Pekin renowned for its taste and higher percentage of breast meat.
Having built on the success of the Gressingham Duck, the company has extended its product portfolio to include other duck breeds, geese and poultry as well as speciality meats and ready meals under the Gressingham Foods name.
As a result, Gressingham Foods and Duck are sold by a number of the UK’s leading retailers and independent stockists, in addition to featuring on the menus of top restaurants nationwide.
