UFlex unveils new flexible packaging solutions and ups recycling capacity
24 Feb 2022 --- UFlex has launched a host of flexible packaging solutions focused on brand optimization, user experience and environmental sustainability. India’s largest flexible packaging multinational has been recycling almost 30,000 tons of plastic waste per year with a target to reach 100,000 tons.
The global polymer science leader has commissioned recycling lines in Mexico and Poland and proposed recycling infrastructure in Egypt to help achieve this target.
“UFlex has been walking the green path by recycling post-consumer MLP mixed plastic waste, upcycling recycled resins into our PCR films range and also creating solutions that use fewer amounts of virgin plastic at source,” says Ashok Chaturvedi, chairman and managing director at UFlex.
“The new high-value line of products and solutions are aimed at the adoption of responsible packaging and mirror our increased focus and investments in R&D.”
Some of UFlex’s recent marque products and solutions include:
- 3D Bags with perforation, providing children with an easy-tear experience
- Standee spout pouches for pouring out chai
- Paper-based packaging laminate for Tetley tea bags
- High-barrier metallized recyclable BOPP Film “B-TUH-M” for food packaging
- Multi-layered monomaterial BOPP Film “B-TGM” with “outstanding” oxygen, aroma and moisture barrier for pouches and bags
- High-performance sealing for packaging with Flexbon 601A/Flexbon 601W adhesive
- Two component solvent-free adhesive Flexbon 702A/Flexbon 777C for multiple laminates
- Flexcure super glide coating for luxurious-looking packs
partnered with the FDC brand Electral Z+ (ORS+Zinc Solution) on ready-to-drink, over-the-counter products, with the formulation being manufactured by Halewood Laboratories Private.
UFlex–Asepto recentlyThe company also plans to double its production capacity for aseptic beverage packs to meet rising demand. Within nine months, the company says it will be able to produce seven billion aseptic packs annually.
