Walkers Launches SunBites and Baked in Sharing Packs

The new SunBites and Walkers Baked sharing bags will help boost evening crisps and snacks consumption by opening up new opportunities for consumers looking for healthier options that don’t compromise on taste.
SunBites, the most significant Walkers launch last year and already worth £12m, is well placed to enhance the burgeoning £135m, better-for-you sharing sector, which has grown +14.9%.
Walkers Baked, launched in 2006, has been the most successful new product launch in the Crisps and Snacks category over the last three years and is now Walkers’ biggest better-for-you brand, worth more than £37m.
Richard Evans, Walkers’ managing director, says: “Health, as a need state, features heavily in evening snacking and is still growing in sharing occasions. The success of Walkers’ better-for-you brands, reflected in their 66% share of healthier crisps, snacks and nuts, demonstrates a clear demand for these new sharing options.”
Walkers Baked and SunBites 95g bags have an RSP of 99p and are available from week commencing June 9. Walkers Baked will be available in Ready Salted and Sour Cream & Chive flavours, and SunBites will be available in Original and Sour Cream & Cracked Black Pepper flavours.
