Walki Wisa introduces a new wrapper for crispbread

Walki Wisa has launched a new wrapper for crispbread: WALKI®Seal Peel. The heat sealable wrapper open neatly along the seal. Walki Wisa's new material simplifies customer processes and offers cost savings.

17/07/06 Handy, easy-to-use packages are a growing trend in today's packaging industry. WALKI®Seal Peel, Walki Wisa's new peelable wrapper for crispbread, caters for the new demand.

"Similar to many other products, WALKI®Seal Peel was developed in response to customer needs. Our customers wanted to simplify the packaging process and reduce packaging costs," explains Pirkko Sormunen, Walki Wisa's Business Manager.

In the past, peelable crispbread wrappers were made by adding rubber glue coating to the laminate on the packaging machine. This made the process both complicated and slow, in addition to generating additional expenses.

"The new wrapper consists of bleached MF paper and a peelable coextruded coating layer, which results in a peelable package in a single run," says Sormunen.

<B>Open and close</B>

Reclosable packages form another clear trend in the packaging industry.

"Our product development is currently working on a reclosable material for crispbread packages," Sormunen explains.

The WALKI®Seal Peel wrapper is suitable for flexo, offset, rotogravure and UV flexoprinting.

Apart from crispbread, the product can be used, for example, to package cookies and biscuits.
