Zipper closure applications

The range of commercial packaging applications for Pactiv’s Hefty® Slide-Rite® Advanced Closure System has been extended to encompass first-time zipper closures for sliced meat and animal crackers. Meat is packaged in a transparent, hooded bag featuring a 10” closure length, while crackers are in a foil-lined bag with metal tamperproof seal and 51¼4” closure.

The range of commercial packaging applications for Pactiv’s Hefty® Slide-Rite® Advanced Closure System has been extended to encompass first-time zipper closures for sliced meat and animal crackers. Meat is packaged in a transparent, hooded bag featuring a 10” closure length, while crackers are in a foil-lined bag with metal tamperproof seal and 51¼4” closure. Zipper tracks are made of LLDPE blends containing as much as 10% Topas® cyclic olefin copolymer from Ticona. Topas is said to add stiffness and strength to improve top retention and opening force. Slide-Rite® closures are available as .03” to 11¼4” strips on reels.
