19 Oct 2022 --- Coveris says it is determined to combat food waste by developing shelf-life-extending packaging and educating consumers. At FachPack 2022 in Nuremberg, Germany, we speak with the company’s UK food and consumer goods director about how preventing spoilage should be the central task of packaging design. Mercer also highlights some of Coveris’ recent products.
04 Oct 2021 --- Speaking at FachPack 2021, Will Mercer, business unit R&D director at Coveris, takes us through the company’s latest circular economy solutions, namely its MonoFlex monomaterials range, Duralite R Recycled shrink film, wash-off labels and linerless label punnets. Coveris recently unveiled a Film Science Lab at its Winsford films facility in the UK, providing state-of-the-art tech to support accelerated R&D.
11 Mar 2020 --- Delivering a reduced CO2 solution for multi-pack beverages and grocery products, Coveris' new Duralite R range offers a next-generation shrink film solution that is both 100 percent recyclable and contains up to 50 percent post-consumer recyclate, Rick Smith, Retail & Sustainability Director at Coveris, explains during Packaging Innovations 2020 in Birmingham, UK. The range also offers an optional pre-consumer top-up recycled material. The additional pre-consumer recycled content is provided by Coveris’ zero-waste circular manufacturing process at its extrusion facilities.
28 Feb 2020 --- Consumer packaging supplier Coveris launched a lightweight sandwich skillet named RecyclaLite during Packaging Innovations 2020 in Birmingham, UK. Will Mercer, Labels & Board R&D Director at Coveris, provides an overview of the easily recycled skillet for the food-to-go sector, which uses a minimum film content to maximize recovery, thereby meeting The UK Plastics Pact’s new guidelines for less than 15 percent film content in board packs up until 2023.
17 Oct 2019 --- Coveris’ Will Mercer (left), Group Technical Director and Eric Valette, Application Group Manager, present the European flexible packaging specialist’s MonoFlexE 100 percent recyclable mono-material from PE for dry pet food and the MonoFlexEs high-gloss mono-material from PE for dry and chilled food with special lacquer from Dow Packaging. Speaking during FachPack 2019 in Nuremberg, Mercer and Valette also introduce the supplier’s new recyclable lidding film for tray-packed products, including fresh food, meat and cheese.
