Responding to consumer concerns, Ampac has tested and produced an improved sealant film that includes an antimicrobial additive for consumer product applications. With a focus on the reduction of odors and mildew in many product types, Ampac has included an antimicrobial film additive that reduces the threat of microbial activity in the Apex sealant film for applications where hermetic seals or sealing to a fitment are required.
Apex 3953 AM sealant films made by Ampac, also BPA-free, contain an antimicrobial agent to inhibit the growth of bacterial odors and mildew and guard against the growth of odors from microbial causes. These characteristics create improved consumer and brand assurance and less concern for consumer rejection.
Products that benefit from laminate and Apex 3953 AM sealant film with antimicrobial additives include food and beverage applications where products or packaging are being reused, as well as consumer products such as personal care, medical and pharmaceutical products, pouches for cough drops, cosmetics wipes, towlettes, and other multi-use applications.
