Banrock Introduces Tetra Paks for Two Wine Lines
The Australian wine producer has packaged its Shiraz and Chardonnay wines in the one-litre Banrock Ecomate Tetra Pak.
07/01/08 Wine brand Banrock Station has launched two of its wines in Tetra Pak cartons, for sale in selected Tesco stores across the UK.
The Australian wine producer has packaged its Shiraz and Chardonnay wines in the one-litre Banrock Ecomate Tetra Pak.
Research in July 2007 revealed that a fifth of Banrock Station drinkers would only buy products if they agreed with brands' ethics.
Tony Sharley, environmental manager of Banrock Station Australia, said the Ecomate pack would give consumers "another option when a glass bottle is not necessary".
Tesco has installed carton collection banks at selected stores across the UK and it hopes to have a further 100 installed over the coming year.
Tetra Pak recycling facilities are now offered by 71% of councils. The company also has an agreement with recycling group Recresco, which offers all local authorities carton collection with Tetra Pak.
