New Zealand wine brand, Brancott Estate, will unveil a contemporary new look with extensive re-packaging for its range at the New Zealand Annual Trade Tasting in January. The packaging change completes its final transition from Montana to Brancott Estate, which started in October 2010.
At the heart of the new look is a contemporary logo and a unique die cut label, each focused on reinforcing the brand’s heritage and celebrating Brancott Vineyard where the original Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was first planted. Visit stand numbers 40 and 41 to learn more about the new look.
In addition and in a first for a New Zealand wine brand, Brancott Estate will launch a new smartphone application which brings together the world of wine and entertainment through 14 consumer experiences. Visitors to the tasting will be amongst the first to trial the new application before it is rolled out globally at the end of January. Named the ‘World’s Most Curious Bottle’, the smartphone application is the next step in Brancott Estate’s ‘Stay Curious’ campaign, allowing wine lovers to see where their curiosity will lead them by transforming a bottle of Brancott Estate into a portal for both entertainment and wine education.
All newly packaged bottles in the Brancott Estate Classic still range will feature a QR (quick response) code, via which consumers are invited to download the ‘World’s Most Curious Bottle’ app on their smartphone.
The app works by prompting consumers to focus their smartphone’s camera on different parts of any new-label Brancott Estate Classic still range bottle to enable the various experiences. There are a number of triggers on the new labelling that the app will recognise, including the front label, QR code and back label map. Consumers are offered a total of 14 different experiences, ranging from virtual visits to Brancott Vineyard in Marlborough to an augmented reality flight with a native New Zealand falcon, tasting notes and food-matching information, and a fully interactive guide to Marlborough’s weather across the seasons.
The World’s Most Curious Bottle App can be accessed via all Brancott Estate Classic still range bottles carrying the new packaging and will be available free in Apple and Android app stores from 30 January 2012.
