The entire range of Coveris Global Rigid’s product offering will be on display at this year’s Packaging Innovations show at the NEC, Birmingham, UK, 25th & 26th February 2015. A team of representatives from across Europe will be on hand to discuss packaging requirements with all visitors to the show, with expert knowledge in all aspects of thermoforming, in-mould label injection moulding and cap and closure manufacture.
Along with the established product ranges, Coveris will be presenting innovative new product lines which add real value, significantly improve product protection and shelf life and enhance on shelf appeal of food products.
Coveris Rigid has recently invested in a new technology called thermoforming in-mould labelling (TIML) which is a combination of thermoforming and in-mould labelling decoration in one production step only. This new technology creates a product with an excellent aesthetic, great barrier properties and significantly improved costs over comparable existing technologies. Being aware of the potential and added value of the technology combination, Coveris announces both intensified research & development and continuous capacity expansion in TIML in Europe in order to offer its customers new, unique packaging solutions for various product applications in the food market.
Coveris’ NEOCELL® range of form-fill-seal sheets (FFS) improve margins in this competitive field through a novel process of manufacture. With the latest innovation NEOCELL PP+, constituting the first thermoformed and breakable polypropylene sheet, all the benefits of regular PS FFS film with improved price stability, excellent thermoforming capabilities and a significant CO2footprint reduction has been achieved and awarded with the Packaging Oscar in 2014.
Alongside its existing dairy caps and closures, including the lightest 38mm cap currently on the market (known as ‘Bantam’ cap at 1.2grams), Coveris will be showcasing another innovation in this field: 38mm 3 and 2 start tamper evident closures, manufactured with continuous compression moulding technology, which breaks all boundaries with its low weight (2.3grams).
As well as these innovative new products, Coveris will be exhibiting and on hand discuss its existing product ranges on stand C49: dry offset-printed thermoformed pots, tubs and cups; DuoSmart® and DuoSmart® Light cardboard wrapped PP cups and pots; injection moulded IML containers; thermoformed trays and food containers and caps and closures.
