Two assays for the detection of Listeria have received Europe-recognised validation from the Association Francaise de Normalisation (AFNOR).
Life Technologies Corporation’s MicroSEQ assays for the detection of Listeria spp and Listeria monocytogenes, received the certification.
AFNOR certification, which recognises alternative methods in accordance with the ISO standard EN/ISO 16140, is applicable across Europe.
The company has earned both AOAC and AFNOR certification for its listeria testing kits, as well as its Salmonella and E.coli assays.
“Considering the rise of high-profile pathogen outbreaks in the last year alone, it’s clear that rapid and accurate molecular tests that have been validated by international recognised certification bodies are paramount to keep widespread contamination at bay,” said Life Technologies’ Nir Nimrodi.
“Life Technologies is creating partnerships with a growing number of customers in order to customise for them the most reliable suite of sample-to-answer detection solutions in support of their unique needs.”
