The Mega Airless Bag-in-Bottle solutions as well as the company’s full range of well-known all plastic airless pumps were on show at at Pharmapack in Paris. The complete range of Bib containers from 15 – 200ml is created in cooperation with Germany’s Gaplast, which provides the co-extruded “delaminating” bottles, while Mega Airless delivers the pump/adapter system. According to Eric Desmaris, the company’s Business Development Director, this Mega Airless + Gaplast’s Bag-in-Bottle solutions offer several compelling advantages over lesser systems. A defined fixing of the inner bag at the bottle’s bottom and neck results in less residue as the bag collapses. Further, the system provides efficient evacuation, reliability – and production efficiency, thanks to fewer parts. “Our Bag-in-Bottle pack solution is a great new option for drug and health products, and is even suitable for less viscous bulk,” said Demaris. “Here is a design that permits preservative-free formulation, is easy and convenient for end-users, and offers the performance, precision and protection that product makers demand. “And, when it is appropriate, our capabilities allow us to deliver an end-user friendly pack with remarkable appeal at the retail point-of-sale,” Desmaris said.
Recent notable examples of Mega Airless system use include: Dr. Hauschka Med Body Lotion and Face Cream; Weleda Granatapfel Serum (in a 15ml Mini with self-sealing actuator); and a range of four ergonomically-shaped body lotions, also from Switzerland’s Weleda Group, a worldwide leader in the creation of all-natural skin and personal care products. The latter launch, in particular, demonstrates Mega Airless’ ability to develop packaging solutions that provide superior formula protection and offer stand-out shelf appeal. “Mega Airless pack solutions deliver advanced ergonomic appeal to encourage regular patient usage,” Desmaris said. “Bottle contours, textures and colors even for the bag are all customizable. Decoration options include hot stamping and silk screening, for a pleasing aesthetic.” In addition, the Mega Airless design results in no clogging, clumping or bulk discoloration, as well as 360-degree application. Further, the bottle and bag are in the same polymer family, allowing the pack to be easily recycled.
