Suominen Flexible Packaging is to preview a number of its new packaging solutions at the ELKO 2003 fair, to be held in Helsinki, Finland. The company will be introducing a polyethylene multi-layer film, which the company says is a new alternative for polypropylene film. Due to its multi-layer structure, the new film is a durable packaging material, even if it is considerably thinner than traditional one-layer films. This material is also said to be frostproof, making it ideal for the packaging of bakery products. New resealable polyethylene and polypropylene bags will also be previewed. The bags have a separate resealable zipper-closure which enables them to be opened and closed as many times as wanted and a product is still preserved and fresh. This product is again likely to be targeted at the baked and snack goods market. ELKO 2003 will be held at the Helsinki Fair Centre between 14 and 16 May. Suominen will be found at stand (4a12). Suominen Flexible Packaging produces consumer packaging out of plastics for industrial and retail purposes.
