Tan-Luxe, a new brand of self-tan, has launched its first product onto the UK market. The brand identity, range packaging and launch support materials have been created by branding and design agency Good. The launch product – Face – introduces a new approach to self-tanning. An ‘illuminating self-tan serum’ – it’s designed to be added to consumers’ moisturiser, working with their existing daily skin care regime and giving complete control over the color of their tan. The objective of the packaging is to create disruption amongst traditional self-tan products, and break away from the sea of bronze and brown typically seen on-shelf.
The on-pack photography reflects the brand’s bright, fun personality, and aims to connect with its target market – a fashion-conscious individual with an effortless, undone style. It also showcases the natural and effortless look the product creates. “With the self-tanning market so crowded, we knew we had to create something with real stand-out – something you’d be proud to have on your bathroom shelf,” said Julie Murdoch, managing director at Good.
Marc Elrick, founder at Tan-Luxe, added: “We have spent five years understanding what our customers are looking for in a tanning product – and as a start up with limited marketing spend, it was vital that the design of our products’ packaging communicated that instantly. “The product is a first for the market, and we wanted the brand and packaging to be a first too. We’ve had hugely positive feedback from retailers and beauty editors so feel confident that we’ve created something that not only stands out, but also reflects the formulation and unique product benefits.” Tan-Luxe is available online and via QVC, with retail listings to be confirmed over the coming weeks.
