Quadpack releases double-chamber monomaterial packaging format for cosmetic products
26 Jul 2023 --- Quadpack has introduced its Duetto Jar packaging solution for cosmetics, likened to a “duet of two performers of equal importance.” The double-chamber design allows two formulas to “shine together.”
The jar holds two different creams separately in 40 mL compartments, making it ideal for mask sets, night and day creams, travel essentials or any other dynamic pair of products.
“Simple, minimalist, yet highly versatile, Duetto’s aesthetics are easily adapted to any brand image,” details the company. “Its walls, chambers, shive and cap provide plenty of scope for creative decoration.”
The monomaterial container is made entirely of PP, ensuring easy recyclability and compatibility with the majority of skin care formulas on the market.
Duetto Jar is also available with up to 44% PCR, which would give it an “advanced level of sustainability,” according to Quadpack’s PIP (positive-impact packaging) rating system.
Lifecycle assessments show that the circularity index of the PCR PP version is “three times higher” than that of the virgin PP jar, with improvements in carbon footprint and water use, notes the supplier.
The jar can be color-matched, spray-coated, hot-stamped, metalized or silk-screened, making it an attractive, compatible and recyclable packaging solution for two complementary products.
Quadpack innovation pipeline
In recent cosmetic packaging innovations from Quadpack, the Barcelona-headquartered specialist released its Emerald Lipstick, designed for “minimalist elegance.” Stripped down to its essential features, the new lipstick packaging sports a completely monomaterial format.
Earlier this month, Quadpack unveiled a Multi Stick packaging solution for solid formulas for an environmentally sustainable beauty collection. The Multi Stick, composed entirely of recyclable PP, is suitable for brands searching for packaging made with recycled materials because it has a PCR content of up to 42%.
In January, Quadpack released the Idol Woodacity Solo Twist Compact. The wood-based beauty compact is refillable while featuring a Solo Twist closure system, bringing an inclusive gesture for both right- and left-handed consumers. The closure has an embedded mirror in the cap, with the top and base of the compact being designed as separate parts, allowing the cap to be used as a pocket mirror.
Among other beauty sector launches over the recent years, the supplier collaborated with Sulapac to create 30 mL biodegradable containers for deodorant cream made by the cosmetics firm i+m. The packaging provider also partnered with Above & Beyond, a lip balm brand, to provide the brand with wood-based packaging.
Quadpack’s industrially compostable formats feature across German indie brand Manik Skincare’s Herbal Tattoo Series products. The packaging material is made from FSC-certified wood chips from industrial waste streams and plant-based materials.
