Sharpak Offers PET and PP Across their Meat and Poultry Packaging Range
Sharpak was the very first manufacturer to launch a range of PP punnets and food trays using UK stream post consumer waste as well as being ahead of its competitors in producing a range of punnets from UK and European sources into the r-PET blend.
Sep 13 2011 --- Through its manufacturing facilities in Bridgwater, Somerset and Yate near Bristol Sharpak can now offer a uniquely flexible choice of packaging materials in Polypropylene (PP) and APET to its customers.
Sharpak was the very first manufacturer to launch a range of PP punnets and food trays using UK stream post consumer waste as well as being ahead of its competitors in producing a range of punnets from UK and European sources into the r-PET blend.
A more recent development has been a carbon low PP material called c-LOW harnessing nature’s natural resources and offering a solution with a substantially reduced carbon footprint compared with conventional PP. This has wide applications across the meat packaging industry and has already received acclaim from leading retailers.
Both PP and APET materials offer clear and distinct benefits to Sharpak’s meat and poultry customers not the least in physical properties, pack integrity, on shelf appeal and environmental benefits.
The availability of both APET and PP across meat and poultry packaging gives Sharpak’s customers a unique choice with some characteristic differences.
APET offers ultra high clarity, excellent gas barrier and like PP is entirely suitable for modified atmosphere packaging. The material can incorporate high levels of post-consumer recyclate and like PP is fully recyclable.
