Transparent, sterilizable pouches from Huhtamaki Van Leer (Ronsberg, Germany) are said to provide oxygen barriers greater than 1 cm3/m2/d/bar, regardless of the atmospheric humidity level. Consists of PET as the printing substrate, OPA film with a vacuum-deposited layer of silicon oxide as the barrier layer, and PP as the sealing agent.
