BOBST ‘Capacity Folder’ Brings New Options in Packaging

The BOBST-designed unit can be added to Bobst Visionfold, Expertfold, Ambition or Media folder-gluers, and until its arrival on the market, capacity folded products required the use of off-line equipment.

Nov 8 2011 --- Herbert Walkers are moving quickly to capitalise on their packaging customer portfolio, which is increasing at a significant rate, with the purchase of the UK’s first capacity fold device mounted on the newly installed Bobst Expertfold carton folder gluer.

Andy Christie, Sales Director of Herbert Walkers, says “We have always tried to be at the forefront when it comes to specialist services and finishes, and this is no exception. The ‘Capacity Fold’ unit can produce packaging and folders with a fixed capacity of between 2mm and 15mm. There are many sectors where our ability to offer this service will be invaluable, both from a turnaround point of view, as well as the inevitable cost savings it will generate for customers”.

After the initial installation of the BOBST capacity fold device, taking it off or remounting it is very straightforward and setting takes place while the unit is off-machine. It is also very easy and very intuitive to set. The net effect is that Herbert Walkers’ can provide their customers with this type of packaging in larger volumes and offer a quicker turnaround”.
