Accuweigh recently supplied an X-ray inspection system for a contract packing company based at South Australia’s Port Lincoln.
The client purchased the X-ray inspection system to enable a food inspection process for organic matter, complementing their extensive range of metal detection and checkweighing equipment.
Supplied by Accuweigh’s Port Adelaide branch, the X-ray inspection system verifies the integrity of foods packaged in foil pouches. Though the client had a minimal specification of an inspection system capable of detecting metal contaminants, Accuweigh offered a competitively priced X-ray inspection system that could also detect organic contaminants such as stones and pebbles, and even bones.
While technological advances allow food metal detection systems to detect metal contaminants through foil packaging, overall speed and detection accuracy still lags far behind quality X-ray inspection systems.
Many X-ray food inspection systems also have the ability to highlight variances in product mass compared to a typical stored sample, which may highlight discrepancies in overall product quality.
Accuweigh offers a comprehensive range of food inspection systems including checkweighing systems, metal detection systems and X-ray inspection systems. Full service support is available for the equipment from eight branches covering all mainland Australian states.
