Amcor Flexibles Invests in Sterilisable Packaging Applications

Mar 19 2012 --- Amcor Flexibles has completed a major investment to increase the capacity and production expertise in innovative sterilisable packaging applications. This has created leaner manufacturing and improved quality assurance for business partners. The investment reinforces Amcor’s commitment to both hospital and medical marketplaces whilst also supporting ongoing efforts to bring significant benefits to customers.
This major renovation and upgrade took place at Amcor Flexibles Coulommiers in France, which has played a leading role in the supply of sterilisation pouches and reels to hospitals and medical device manufacturers for over 30 years.
During the course of the expansion operation, all bag converting machines were transferred under one single roof and improvements were also made to increase the size of the production area, enabling productivity targets to be realised.
Additionally, the expansion has also created optimal safety conditions for co-workers to operate according to GMP standards with the extension of the clean room. In addition to holding ISO 9001, 13485, 14001 certifications and packaging products compliance with EN ISO 11607-1 and EN868-5, AF Coulommiers is now accredited with ISO 8 standards (air treatment) to meet market hygiene requirements.
