Aptar adds Asepta and Contender closures

Aptar Food + Beverage will be showcasing two new flip-top sports closures at Drinktec in September: Asepta and Contender.
The Asepta closure was designed especially for wet and dry aseptic filling, which will allow sensitive beverage makers more access to flip-top linerless closures. Asepta (in PE) benefits from a patented technology that prevents any ingress during the sterilisation process. Its design includes an innovative and intuitive opening with non-detachable tamper evidence.
Contender is a 38mm linerless flip-top closure that is easily manipulated with one hand. Contender (in PP/PE) is hot-fill compatible and linerless which means the consumer no longer has to unscrew the cap and remove the liner before consumption.
Aseptic filling and hot-filling are two filling technologies which allow beverage makers to keep their product as natural as possible, responding to a growing consumer demand to produce drinks with less preservatives or additives. Due to the complexity of flip-top closures, it has been difficult to safely use these processes without the use of a liner until now.
Additionally at Drinktec, Aptar will unveil two new products, adding to their catalogue of standard closures which already includes their bi-injected pouring closure, Duo, and the Original family of standard flip-top sports closures.
