Beatson Clark Jars Support Future Picklers

4/25/2011 --- Beatson Clark, a leading UK glass packaging manufacturer, is pleased to be supporting the country’s future ‘picklers’ in conjunction with Trackelments, purveyor of fine mustards and preserves.
 
Each year Tracklements encourage Wiltshire school children to learn about food and where it comes from by involving them in the creation of a Crabapple Jelly. The children pick the apples and learn how it is turned into the Jelly via boiling and straining through muslin. For every jar of Crabapple Jelly sold, 25p is then donated to the school. Tracklements is also part of the renowned ChutFest event at Barrington Court, whereby pickler’s and chutney enthusiasts from around the UK gather to taste each other’s creations. Teresa Udall, winner of the best chutney 2010, had the opportunity to go to Tracklements for a day and watch as her recipe was created and bottled for sale at this year’s ChutFest.
 
Beatson Clark, supplies the traditional styled clear 228ml jar with a 63mm twist off neck finish for both these projects. The jars, chosen from Beatson Clark’s extensive general sale range, perfectly compliment both the children’s Crabapple Jelly creation along with Teresa’s winning chutney recipe.

The children love learning about the jelly and how it is made. So much so that with part of the money generated by the sales, the school has created its own ‘environment zone’ garden, which includes a crabapple tree as its centrepiece.
