Beer Tubes Utilizes Eastman Tritan Copolyester for Durable Beverage Dispensers
Previously manufactured with polycarbonate (PC), Beer Tubes switched production to Eastman Tritan copolyester because the attributes of the material provide advantages for customers.
6/3/2011 --- To meet the demands of restaurant and bar managers for durable, aesthetically pleasing barware free of bisphenol A (BPA), Beer Tubes introduces beverage dispensers made with Eastman Tritan copolyester. Tritan is a new-generation copolyester that balances the properties of clarity, toughness, and heat and chemical resistance.
A Beer Tube, a tabletop beverage dispenser for commercial use in restaurants and bars or individual residential use, consists of a beverage-containing tube, dispensing tap and customizable sports or non-sports-themed base. The 100-ounce Beer Tube and 128-ounce Super Tube, along with the standard and upgraded commercial taps, are made of Eastman Tritan copolyester.
"In busy, crowded restaurant and nightclub settings, it's essential for products to be tough, shatter-resistant and able to withstand daily use and washing, while also maintaining aesthetic appeal," said David Stein, president, Beer Tubes. "By using Eastman Tritan copolyester for the Beer Tubes products, we are able to offer our customers beverage dispensers made from the highest-quality material available to successfully withstand the commercial environment."

For example, the tubes and taps do not craze or whiten after everyday use and repeated exposure to dishwashing detergents. Additionally, Tritan allows Beer Tubes to offer customers a BPA-free alternative.

Beer Tubes also selected Eastman Tritan copolyester due to the ongoing service and support provided by Eastman, including technical assistance with material processing.
