The ColorMatrix Group, global innovator in advanced colorant, additive and dosing technologies for the plastic beverage packaging industry is in India to promote its products like PET Resin Enhancement technologies, Triple A , Amosorb and Amosorb® Solo2 and Lactra to the Indian buyers. The company presented its technologies at drinktec and Packtech India India organised in Mumbai on November 18-20.
Lactra is one product that ColorMatrix is eager to promote in India, given India’s leading status in the dairy industry. The product is developed for dairy packaging applications, its opaque white liquid technology protects from UV and visible light at wavelengths up to 550 nm. This is vital to extend shelf life in dairy products such as milk, yougurt and dairy beverages.
“It is the light barrier which is specific for packaging dairy products, but can achieve light weight packaging, reducing the cost and saving energy,” Claudia Finamore, marketing manager, EMEA said. “As dairy is susceptible to light conditions it protects the drink inside packaging. Very low addition rate is required as it is in the liquid form,“ Claudia added.
Lactra ensures high performance light-blocking at low addition rates while maintain enhanced aesthetics. It is compatible with any PET grade, it also offers maximum production facility. As a result brand owners, dairy processors and packaging technologists can create customised, cost-effective PET barrier solutions for their products.
The company has sales office in India for the last seven years and a production facility near Mumbai to cater to the local market needs.
Lactra is still in the development stage for certain applications which the company anticipates to complete by early next year. The product is currently being sold on a trial basis to Indian companies.
