Conwed Plastics Achieves SQF 2000 Level 2 Certification
The program provides independent certification that Conwed’s food safety system complies with international and domestic food safety standards.
Feb 6 2012 --- Conwed Plastics, a leading manufacturer of plastic netting for meat, poultry, and produce packaging has received SQF 2000 Level 2 Certification for its Roanoke, VA facility. Audits were conducted by a third-party, SQF-accredited certification body, SAI Global. The program provides independent certification that Conwed’s food safety system complies with international and domestic food safety standards.

Managed by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), the SQF (Safe, Quality Food) Code is designed for use by all sectors of the food industry, and meets the safety standards of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The Code utilizes standardized HACCP principles and guidelines, which are proven methods and best practices used by the food industry to reduce the incidence of unsafe food reaching the marketplace.
