Crown Launches Production of Seated End Tins in Europe
CROWN Speciality Packaging Europe, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. (Crown) is now producing seated end tins in Europe, offering premium brands in the region reduced lead times and enhanced supply chain reliability for their packaging.
Crown’s unique and distinctive technology for the seated end tin was designed in house, with custom tooling and machines developed for the manufacturing process. Seated end means the tin’s bottom curl is inverted so that when the packaging is placed on a flat surface, the curl is hidden from view. Crown’s own solution provides a stronger and more robust tin with pure lines. In many cases, consumers choose to reuse the package, meaning that key brand messaging continues to be conveyed long after the initial product has been used up.
“New packaging such as the seated end tin enables brands to gain a visual edge, grabbing the consumer’s eye and boosting sales,” said Véronique Curulla, European Marketing Manager, CROWN Speciality Packaging Europe. “Crown has developed this innovative new seated end technology in Europe to offer brand owners a greater choice of distinctive and novel metal packaging formats, helping them differentiate their products at the key point of sale and express their brand’s identity.”
In addition to the seated end tin, CROWN Speciality Packaging Europe will be highlighting its design capabilities at the ProSweets 2013 exhibition. One of the company’s designers will be on hand to explain to visitors the multifaceted design and conceptualization process at Crown, which includes expert design guidance at production sites as well as innovation and development of new products at Crown’s Innovation Center in Wantage.
