Curwood Advantage Film for Bulk Shred Cheese Saves Money without Sacrificing Performance
Custom-engineered for VFFS bulk shredded cheese pouches, economical Curwood Advantage film delivers equal or better abuse resistance, machinability and barrier compared to competitive materials, all at a reduced cost.
Aug 4 2010 --- Curwood answers the bulk cheese industry's call to lower costs with a tailored structure that delivers economy while meeting the performance demands of the bulk shred category. New Curwood Advantage film is a high-barrier structure engineered specifically for VFFS bulk shredded cheese pouches. A drop-in replacement for industry standard bulk shred applications, the film provides significant cost reduction and runs on existing equipment without compromising speed or machinability. The new structure also creates high-integrity seals at lower sealing temperatures, reducing energy usage.
Developed to provide excellent abrasion, puncture and flex crack resistance, Curwood Advantage film withstands the abusive environment seen during pack-off and distribution. This versatile film is ideal for 5- to 20-lb. applications.
“Because of production demands and the rigors of handling bulk cheese in foodservice applications, it isn't enough to deliver a packaging material that costs less,” says Dave Engen, cheese market manager for Curwood. “Cost savings must be accompanied by equivalent or better machinability, throughput, strength and hermetic barrier to deliver a competitive advantage. Curwood Advantage film is the first material to meet that challenge.”
Known throughout the world for technological leadership in high-barrier packaging, Curwood is a preferred supplier of innovative packaging materials and systems for food, beverage, household, industrial and personal care industries.
