ExxonMobil Chemical’s new Bicor™ 18 MAT-S film is a one-side matte finish, one-side treated, heat-sealable OPP film that can deliver package weight savings. Designed for use as the outer web of a lamination, the heat sealability of Bicor 18 MAT-S film allows lap sealing of the matte finish layer to multiple coextruded OPP sealant webs. This enables a finished package weight reduction of up to 5 percent when compared to fin seal packages.
The film provides a matte, paper-like, satin appearance for differentiated packaging when reverse printed. “This gives designers the flexibility to develop packages with a traditional, soft paper look and feel,” said John Charbonneau, product manager, ExxonMobil Chemical. The converting surface is engineered for multicolor process printing which delivers outstanding package graphics for enhanced shelf appeal and package differentiation.
It has excellent ink adhesion and bond strength in adhesive and extrusion laminations, and is an excellent matte-finish slip film for heat seal laminations.
Bicor 18 MAT-S film provides excellent machinability in vertical form fill seal (VFFS) and horizontal form fill seal (HFFS) applications for chips, crisps and snacks, bakery products, biscuits, cookies and crackers, and confectionery.
