FachPack 2021: Mosca to premiere high-performance pallet strapping machine
28 Jul 2021 --- Mosca is set to premiere its KZV-321 pallet strapping machine and showcase its UCB strapping machine with banding technology at FachPack 2021 (Stand 3C-312, Hall 3C). The event will be the company’s first live appearance since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“During this time [the pandemic], we’ve been working full speed ahead on new innovations and developments – and we’re looking forward to presenting two of them at Fachpack,” comments Timo Mosca, Mosca’s CEO.
The KZV-321 debuting live in Nuremberg is described as an extremely versatile high-performance model. The machine straps single pallets of different heights and stacked pallets.
In the past, this operation would have required two separate machines, as strapping a double pallet through the pallet base was not possible. The KZV-321 efficiently combines both processes in a fully automatic machine.
The machine can handle different product heights: with six strap lances at three different heights, it adapts to each specific product.
Moreover, the straps double pallets through the pallet bases for effective transport security. This enables maximum strap tension without product damage. It also improves eco-sustainability since the strapping is not placed around the entire bundle but only from base to base.
The machine is also economical on energy consumption by using Mosca’s patented SoniXs ultrasonic sealing technology. Compared to conventional heat welding units, SoniXs requires no warm-up phases, requiring significantly less energy.
Strapping machine for corrugated board
Maximum flexibility is also the focus of the UCB strapping machine designed for the corrugated board industry. This model will be returning to Fachpack in 2021 with a new feature: since mid-year, the machine has been available with a banding system, making it optimally equipped for handling fragile products like glossy materials.
Even with high tension, the 20 mm wide banding film does not cut into the product or cause damage of any kind, Mosca reports.
Users can switch between the banding unit and strapping unit within minutes to select the most suitable type of transport security for each product. The strapping unit is equipped with a double strap dispenser.
When the strapping material runs out, the machine automatically switches from an empty coil to a replacement coil and seals the new strap without waste. This not only increases the efficiency of the machine but also avoids downtimes.
Industry 4.0
The state-of-the-art Evolution SoniXs TR-6 Pro is a prime example of digitalization, networking and automation. Capable of handling up to 45 packages per minute, it delivers the performance required to cope with high-speed logistics operations.
This machine is also ideal as an interface to Industry 4.0. Users can check machine operation at any time and from any place via an integrated network communication gateway.
The Mosca stand at Fachpack 2021 features several other proven machines, including the entry-level RO-M Fusion model and the Evolution SoniXs MS-6 KR-ZV, specially developed for lightweight products on dollies, pallet cages or wooden pallets.
Since these bundles require less strap tension, the machine is CE-compliant without a protective safety enclosure. Its compact design and cost-efficient operation make it an ideal strapping solution.
Recycled plastic strapping
Mosca PET straps are made from 100 percent recycled materials, while its polypropylene strapping contains up to 30 percent recycled material. The company indicates it is striving to increase the proportion of recycled resources further.
Mosca was recently named Germany’s most sustainable machine engineering company by Focus Money magazine.
Experts at the Mosca FachPack stand will be available to offer visitors advice on eco-sustainable strapping solutions.
