THE latest in the range of fast flexible films from UCB Films, of Wigton, is capable of extending shelf life, says the company. Propafilm FFX is a differentially coated BOPP. On one side is a low temperature sealing coating, and on the other a high barrier PVdC for added protection from moisture, oxygen and aroma taint. The film is considered particularly suited to flow-wrapped biscuits and bakery goods. UCB says its hot tack properties allow sealing to occur even where contamination from sugar or flour exists in the seal area.
