Gemak has commissioned its first turnkey milk and cream processing plant in the UK, which was installed for Fresh Pastures CIC, a supplier of milk to schools based in England.
Earlier in 2012, Fresh Pastures CIC has contracted Gemak UK to design, manufacture, automate, install and commission the 10000 liters per hour plant, which has been completed in just four months from the time of order.
The design and equipment developed by Gemak for the plant includes layouts, flow diagrams, P&ID and 3D design for water, ice water, air, electrics, steam, product and CIP lines along with individual equipment and tanks suitable for the existing building.
Besides the design and equipment, the plant was also provided with automation flow and software that enables a single person to control the milk reception, milk and cream processing plant from four different control points and 24/7 service to address issues.
Gemak UK said it tested all the equipment lines at its factory based in Ankara, Turkey before moving them to plant location for installation.
Rural Development Programme for England has funded the project partly, with a ROI of just 13 months from commissioning, said Gemak.
