Griesson - de Beukelaer (GdB) has won the German Packaging Award again this year. In the food category, the new Cookies product of DeBeukelaer Bakery received the major industry award, which is awarded annually by the German Packaging Institute (dvi). As part of the "Gala of the award-winners" in Nuremberg, Wolfgang Zydek, Head Packaging Management GdB, collected the prize.
The DeBeukelaer Bakery cookies are cookies in an XXL format and have been available since this spring in the trade. Not only the cookies, but also the entire packaging concept is based on the original from the USA. Each cookie is individually wrapped, and the appearance of the paper surface gives the impression than the cookie has just been bought fresh at the bakery in a New York City and wrapped in newspaper. The American newspaper paper also draws on some interesting and funny stories from the world of cookies. The Special: For the first time in individually wrapped cookies, it is GdB who has managed to develop round single packagings with a circumferential seal - an absolute novelty in the market.
The harmonious packaging concept is completed by the visually appealing carton, which gives 100% genuine enjoyment with that New-York-City-feeling. "We have something technologically daring with the new round packaging," says Wolfgang Zydek. "Here we have once more succeeded in combining the practical benefits of the package with a very attractive appearance."
