Gualapack secures majority stake in Easysnap single-dose sachet tech
10 Jun 2021 --- Gualapack is acquiring the majority stake in Easysnap Technology, a single-dose sachet equipped with an easy opening system suitable for liquid or semi-liquid products.
Gualapack is an Italian company based in Alessandria operating within the flexible packaging sector. It has plants worldwide and produces packaging for food and pharmaceuticals, household products and cosmetics.
Easysnap Technology is a company based in the Italian Packaging Valley.
“Easysnap aims to become mainstream not only in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals but also in food,” Andrea Taglini, Easysnap’s CEO, tells PackagingInsights.
“Our goal is to change the way things are opened in all sectors thanks to the universality feature of our pack. Easysnap is a single-dose whose key to success is its ease of use. It allows you to open it with just one hand without the need to unscrew or tear.”
Andrea Taglini will remain in office as CEO to ensure the continuity of objectives common to the two companies, already united for some time by a customer-supplier relationship.
“We made this acquisition because we know this product and its potential well, but above all because we believe in the acceleration of Easysnap’s success,” notes Michele Guala, Gualapack’s president and CEO.
Environmental focus
The acquisition’s main benefits are increased productivity, a strong innovation drive and a solid commitment to environmental sustainability, the companies indicate.
“In a world where product waste is one of the most polluting factors, I believe the concept of dispensing the right dose must be considered a value,” says Taglini.
“Gualapack is helping us reduce the plastic used in packs through the use of materials from recycled sources and in the creation of entirely recyclable materials.”
“Our product portfolio is expanding to meet the most ambitious packaging sustainability projects.”
Global footprint
Stefano Manfredi, global sales and marketing director at Gualapack, says the company’s short-term priorities are maximizing sales effectiveness by leveraging Gualapack’s global footprint and flexible expertise.
“We expect to accelerate Easysnap’s growth, especially on sustainable packaging solutions, such as monomaterial and paper-based.”
In other Gualapack news, the supplier recently developed a recyclable baby food pouch for Kraft Heinz in what is reportedly an Italian market first.
