Heinz Company, the world's largest producer of processed tomato products, today introduced limited edition, commemorative World Championship Ketchup Bottles as a way to pay tribute to the Pittsburgh Steelers' big win and give fans yet another reason to savor the sweet taste of success.
The 14 oz. commemorative glass bottles feature labels honoring the team as "2005 World Champions" and are available through the end of April in both home (black) and away (white) versions for $5 per bottle at
"Food and football have always been great teammates, so a commemorative ketchup bottle seemed like a natural way to both congratulate the Steelers and, at the same time, offer fans a special remembrance of the big win," said Wendy Joyce, senior brand manager for Heinz Ketchup.
The limited edition bottles will also pay tribute to Steelers running back Jerome Bettis, who recently announced his retirement. Heinz will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the commemorative bottles to The Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation, which attempts to improve the quality of life for troubled and underprivileged children.
