Innovations from KHS
New developments from KHS will be featured at the Anuga Trade Fair.
03/02/06 KHS AG, international manufacturer of filling and packaging systems for the beverage, food, and non-food industries, will be featuring new developments at the Anuga FoodTec international trade fair.
KHS' alignment is clearly defined, namely: KHS is a world market leader and preferred provider of solutions in the packaging industry with focus on the beverage industry and complete systems. In addition to the beverage market, KHS currently expects high growth reserves in the food and non-food sectors. Experience shows that the know-how necessary for the beverage industry has to be especially wide-ranging. KHS is therefore outstandingly equipped for the technical and technological demands of the food and non-food sectors.
With its Innoket ROLAND 20/5, KHS will be presenting a generation of labeling machines that is equally suitable for the beverage, food, and non-food industries. A special feature of the Innoket ROLAND 20/5 labeler on exhibit at the trade fair is an especially advantageous method of applying tamper-proof labels together with body and back labels. A decisive advantage of the tamper-proof labeling facility from KHS: Unlike applying body labels with an extension leading to the lid of the jar, a separately applied tamper-proof label eliminates label material waste incurred when the labels are produced. This capability incorporates very tangible savings potential. And yet another significant advantage: The capabilities provided by KHS for combining tamper-proof labels with lid labels also eliminates the need for printed lids. Another source of very specific cost-savings coupled with the benefit of a highly attractive packaging. Another positive aspect: The tamper-proof label is fitted exactly to the contours of the jars thereby eliminating the risk of accidentally tearing the tamper-proof label when the containers are packed in the secondary packaging or unpacked by the retailer. Maximum product safety is a given.
Another new development is the double-clamp poucher from KHS that that forms, fills, and seals a widest variety of pouch types. Integrating the leading and trailing clamps attached to independently controlled chains ensures reliable pouch (sachet) handling. These clamps can be quickly adapted to new requirements at any time.
The benefits offered by the new double-clamp poucher versus the previous KHS IM model equipped with trailing clamps include improved pouch control during filling and top sealing processes, an option to run heavier fill weights than in the past, and even quicker changeover to other sizes.
The KHS double-clamp poucher is able to produce a variety of pouch sizes in addition to many different pouch shapes as required at outputs of up to 70 cycles/minute. Whether pouches with three-sided and four-sided fin seals, gusset bottoms, or stand-up pouches with or without resealable zippers - they are all doable. Pouch heights may vary between 102 and 203 mm (4 to 8 inches) with widths ranging from 127 to 228 mm (5 to 9 inches).
Especially for the purpose of applying tamper-proof labels, the Innoket ROLAND 20/5 uses a centering bell open on one side that fixes the positions of the labels after they are applied with special application elements.
