Interpack 2023: Mosca to answer Industry 4.0 demands with end-of-line digital packaging solutions
06 Mar 2023 --- Mosca Group will display an end-of-line packaging system designed for Industry 4.0 applications at the upcoming trade show, Interpack 2023 (May 4-10) in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company is focusing on digital solutions and optimized packaging that can be integrated into a fully automated, intelligent process.
The Mosca Group will be in Hall 11, Stand D56, showcasing the new TR-Connect “high-performance strapping machine” with a full range of advanced digital features.
Other highlights include an introduction to the Mosca TechCenter, where visitors can check the company’s load-securing systems and optimize them for transport stability.
Additionally, Movitec – a Mosca subsidiary – will present its Saturn S8 stretch wrapper at Stand E32, Hall 12.
PackagingInsights will be reporting live from Interpack 2023 at booth B83 in Hall 8A.
Reduced downtime
The advanced Mosca SoniXs TR-Connect high-performance strapping machine combines the advantages of the company’s SoniXs TR-6 Base and TR-6 Pro models. It can be integrated with existing production lines with WebHMI.
“Key parameters, including performance, current strap settings and availability, can be monitored at any time via WebHMI and easily adapted to requirements,” says Andreas Ding, Mosca’s innovation manager.
The company highlights that the new interface simplifies machine commissioning and operation. An optional digital package adds functionality and enables all relevant machine parameters to be controlled remotely via tablet computer – independent of time and place.
Mosca is showcasing its the KZV-111 pallet strapping machine at Interpack 2023.“From strapping to stretch wrapping for added stability or attaching bundles to pallets: when it comes to securing loads at the end of the packaging line, there are various requirements to be met depending on the type of goods, packaging material and destination,” explains the strapping machine company.
“Further demands arise when the end-of-line packaging system is to be integrated into a fully automated, intelligent process.”
Protecting fragile goods
Mosca’s subsidiary Movitec will showcase its Saturn S6 stretch wrapper and KZV-111 pallet strapping machine – an end-of-line combination of conveyor technology.
The visitors can also receive a live demonstration of the end-of-line solution to secure pallets for transportation. Movitec’s Saturn S8 is equipped with a double unwinding head and is a fully automatic stretch wrapper capable of wrapping up to 160 pallets per hour.
Notably, the Mosca KZV-111 pallet strapping machine is ideal for use in the logistics industry.
“Its movable strap lance accurately positions the strap and secures the goods to the pallet. Vertical strapping additionally stabilizes lightweight products. Using eco-sustainable PET strapping made of 100% recycled materials, the KZV-111 straps up to 61 pallets per hour with a cycle time of 12 seconds,” the company shares.
Furthermore, the optional BSG-4 strap sealing unit enables users to further minimize the machine’s material consumption and reduce its carbon footprint.
Transport packaging optimization
At the new Mosca TechCenter, using various test set-ups to simulate vibrations, impact or crushing force, Interpack visitors can test and optimize the stability and durability of the transport packaging systems under extreme conditions.
“Mosca is providing insight into the process at the company’s Interpack stand. Strapped product pallets are placed in the tilt testing tool, which tips the pallets to a predefined angle, enabling customers to check the stability of a bundled load when it is tilted,” the company details.
CEO Timo Mosca adds: “We subject our customers’ transport security systems to extreme conditions in our TechCenter to show them how different aspects can be optimized. This way, we can use our expertise to help develop efficient, resource-saving solutions without compromising safety or quality.”
