Korsnäs has set its sights on the luxury packaging market with the launch of a cartonboard grade with a “silky smooth surface and excellent printing capabilities”.
The grande, Korsnäs Artisan, was unveiled at the Luxepack 2011 exhibition, which opened today in Monaco.
The new board incorporates a “soft touch” and is a high-white, multi-layered board made of 100% virgin fibre. The grade is available in grammages from 270-390g
According to Korsnäs, the long, tough and resilient fibres make for an “extremely strong and formable material” and the single-coated, silky smooth surface offers “excellent printing properties”.
Korsnäs Artisan targets markets including cosmetics, perfume and exclusive confectionery. It is approved for direct contact with food.
