Labelexpo Europe 2025: UPM Adhesive Materials unveils labels for logistics and consumer durables
UPM Adhesive Materials has launched a portfolio of new specialist label solutions designed to address emerging trends in logistics and consumer durables. The company is showcasing these innovations at the ongoing Labelexpo Europe trade show in Barcelona, Spain.
UPM Adhesive Materials has launched a new removable label material to meet the needs of the logistics sector, which is undergoing transformation as supply chains adapt to the growth of e-commerce, direct-to-store deliveries, and packaging waste reduction requests.
According to the company, the solution can be removed easily and cleanly, supporting circular packaging systems and enhancing consumer experience. This is said to enable parcels to be reshipped without replacing the packaging, cutting costs, and improving efficiency.
Sylwia Jurys, vice president, markets EMEIA at UPM Adhesive Materials, says: “Selecting the right label is essential to elevate sustainability, especially now as EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation requirements place even more pressure on packaging.”
“As experts in the field, we formulate label materials that are specifically designed for the varied environments and conditions they’ll face to ensure they perform exactly as needed, while supporting sustainability ambitions. We’re showcasing some of these solutions at Labelexpo Europe and demonstrating to our customers how we can help them renew the everyday with label material performance.”
Solutions for end-uses
UPM Adhesive Materials shares that brands are shipping goods in their original packaging, reducing the need for secondary wrapping or repacking. This shift requires labeling solutions that can withstand the full delivery cycle.
The company has introduced a product selection guide for the Consumer Durables sector. Rising energy prices and technological advances in appliances are fueling demand for efficient household goods. Modern appliances often feature multiple labels for energy ratings, identification, promotions, and QR codes.
UPM’s new guide aims to simplify the decision-making process by providing clear product selections, flexible ordering options, and sustainability-focused features, such as solvent-free adhesives and PET PCR materials.
In addition, UPM highlights its Carbon Action plastic label materials and its expertise in recyclability. The Carbon Action portfolio can support brands demonstrating the quantifiable reduction of their label material’s carbon footprint, choosing bio-based raw materials, and ensuring recycling compatibility.
