Lotus Bakeries Launches New Packaging for Beloved Anna’s Thins
The new packaging was created by award-winning design firm Turner Duckworth for all four Anna’s Thins flavors: Ginger Thins, Almond Thins, Orange Thins and Chocolate Mint Thins.
Oct 21 2011 --- With more than 75 years of experience baking Europe’s favorite cookies, Lotus Bakeries announced the release of new packaging for Anna’s Thins, available throughout North American markets this month. The new packaging was created by award-winning design firm Turner Duckworth for all four Anna’s Thins flavors: Ginger Thins, Almond Thins, Orange Thins and Chocolate Mint Thins.
Anna’s Thins are known around the world for its 100 year-old secret family cookie recipe, which originated in Sweden by the Karlsson family in 1929. Today, more than 1 billion Anna’s Thins are sold globally, making them the world’s best selling ginger thins. Baked in Sweden using all natural ingredients, Anna’s Thins are perfectly thin and deliciously crisp.
Anna's Thins new look, created by world-renowned San Francisco-based design firm Turner Duckworth, looks back to the brand's heritage. The logo has been refined and restored and new photography reinforces the appeal of these unique cookies and their distinctive flavors. The new design revitalizes the brand with authentic and relevant meaning, with an eye toward attracting a broader audience.
"We focused on the unique shape and ritual of eating Anna's cookies. The cookie cutter appears to have actually cut the window in the packaging, revealing the cookies inside. We turned a potential negative broken cookies into a positive, by observing Swedish folklore and inviting people to make a wish," said Sarah Moffat, Turner Duckworth Creative Director.
“We are excited to announce the launch of the new Anna’s Thins packaging,” said Marco de Leeuw, Executive President of Lotus Bakeries North America. “The Turner Duckworth design team has done an excellent job of honoring – yet energizing – the look and feel of the original Anna’s Thins, which many have grown to know and love.”
